Sunday Reflection

 

Brothers and Sisters,

 

You will never become what God has called you to be if you never get started.

Never underestimate the potential God has placed within you. When God calls

us to do something great, one of the first things the enemy attacks is our self-

image. But Scripture reminds us who we are in God: we are His children and heirs to the King. You do not have to be someone important in the eyes of the world; you simply have to belong to Him. Our confidence comes from knowing who we are and, more importantly, whose we are.

 

Moses had an identity crisis, yet God still called him. Many believers feel they do not know enough, cannot speak well enough, or are not equipped enough to be used by God. But God told Moses to go and promised that He would teach him what to say. Your responsibility is not to convince everyone; it is to be faithful and speak what God has given you. Do not allow fear, insecurity, your limitations, or the opinions of others to keep you on the sidelines. If God has called you, trust that He will provide what you need for the assignment.

 

Do not miss your mark because of excuses or fear. Your potential is not measured by your abilities, but by what God can do through you. Before you were ever thought about in your mother’s womb, God had a plan for your life, and He has placed within you what is necessary to fulfill His purpose. People may not always hear you, understand you, or receive what God has given you, but that does not change your mission. Success in God’s eyes is obedience. So trust Him, go when He says go, speak when He says speak, and let God handle the rest. He will strengthen you, guide you, and give you everything you need. There is nothing too hard for God.

As God is always reaching out in pursuit of a relationship with you, will you

follow and obey the calling? The main thought is who pursued who first.

The answer to that is that God pursued you first. God pursued you through

redemption, adoption, faith, and love. God is great.  With every believer, the

pursuit began with God, for he chose us. There’s an importance in living a

holy and blameless life. 

 

God chose us, meaning we will live a holy and blameless life, which God laid out for us. God’s plan for salvation was made before we were even born. God chases after you, and gives keys and messages so you will follow his calling on you. He chose us from the foundation of our creation, meaning he picked us from the beginning. God’s pursuit is continuous, which means even when you mess up, God keeps chasing after you and pursuing you and a relationship with you. You need to watch what you do, because God will continue to pursue you. When you feel uncomfortable where you are, that’s because of God‘s pursuit. When you stop doing certain things, you won’t be uncomfortable. 

 

God is always seeking a relationship with us and when we hide from God, he still pursues us. God‘s pursuit shows His everlasting love and reminds us that we can’t run from God. God still chases us no matter how many times we sin, even with Adam and Eve‘s disobedience, God still sought after them. Even if we run or hide from God, He will still pursue us, because God is always seeking a relationship with us. 

 

God‘s pursuit is relentless. God pursues us by being our Shepherd, our peace, healer of our bodies, providing us peace, being near us no matter where we are, God being all sufficient, and God seeing us no matter where we are, even if we shouldn’t be there. God will stay in pursuit of you, so will you keep trying to run or will you be open to God's pursuit, and will you pursue God also?
